The Doorway

Come away with me to another world
Where life is beautiful and magic is real
Fantastic realms, surreal landscapes, and
Dreamy impressions of the everyday

Here everything is more vivid, or conversely,
Softer and more subtle
Intensified emotions purify and renew
All that it flows through

Leave with a new way of seeing
Your reality and being
Transformed

For as long as I can remember, art has been a doorway to another world — one full of mystery, wonder, and awe, where everything felt significant and anything seemed possible.

As a very imaginative child, this world was my playground, a welcome escape from the challenges of ordinary life. And as I grew up, I came to realize that this world was not just a refuge, but also contained the power to transform my daily existence. Over time, I learned that this world of fantasy and imagination contained some of the most valuable parts of myself — parts that I often had no idea even existed before encountering them here.

I’ve learned to give this place many names: The Self, the unconscious, the soul, the imaginal realm. Whatever I’ve called it, it has always been the ultimate source of meaning, joy, and creativity in my life. It’s where I’ve found the most brilliant insights, the most beautiful visions, the deepest feelings, and the most innocent playfulness. It’s a place where I always remember that the world is infinite, that life is full of possibilities, and that I’m connected to something greater than my self.

The art I make are mementos of my journeys here, portals that allow me to re-experience a bit of what I found, and reminders of my discoveries that then inspire the rest of my life. Often they’re pure creations of my inner vision; occasionally they’re impressions of real life settings. With all of them, what I try to capture is the quality of the experience. Sometimes it’s soft and dreamy, sometimes more dramatic and intense, and other times more absurd and whimsical. Most importantly, I try to express what Carl Jung called “the numinous” — the sense of something profoundly unknowable and yet deeply meaningful.

I hope that my work can evoke for you some of that numinosity, that they will also transport you to a world filled with mystery and wonder. And that they will inspire you to discover that same magical place within yourself, where your greatest inner treasures can be found, ready to transform your life.
